Top 300 Songs of the 2000s, #60 - 51

Roisin Murphy: Teaching us new words... like 'Ramalama.'

Two rap classics, indie rock at its finest and a song good enough to push a former boy band singer into solo pop superstardom territory. There's also the true beginning of the biggest, most controversial act in music right now and a couple of random (by random I mean very good) indie songs. Oh... and a Rihanna song. What are they? You're about to find out.

#60 - Poker Face (2008)
by Lady Gaga

Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun,
And baby when it's love if it's not rough it isn't fun...

'Just Dance' was good, 'Poker Face' was epic. Since its release, there's been no stopping the Haus of Gaga. 'Poker Face' also taught us about bluffin' with our muffin, so it has that going for it too. Kudos.

#59 - Get Ur Freak On (2001)
by Missy Elliott

Quiet! Shh, hush yo' mouth,
Silence when I spit it out (Ahh-Choo)...

Open wide and let Missy inside. Yep, I'm talking about her spit. Don't pretend you wouldn't like it.

#58 - Ramalama (Bang Bang) (2005)
by Roisin Murphy

Taking a picture of you, Taking a picture of,
Taking a picture of me, taking a picture of...

#57 - Take Me Out (2004)
by Franz Ferdinand

I know I won't be leaving here with you...

Scotland should be very proud. I'm not even Scottish and I'm proud of them. Weird, right?

#56 - Bombs Over Baghdad (2000)
by OutKast

In-slum-national underground...

One of the most manic, out of control, crazy masterpieces of music you'll ever hear. It's over before you know it, but you'll be reaching for the repeat button. It's just that good.

#55 - SexyBack (2006)
by Justin Timberlake

Dirty babe, you see these shackles,
Baby I'm your slave...

#54 - My Superman (2008)
by Santigold

Well your a liar and your cues are all wrong...

Sexy, sleek and smart. That's the song AND Santigold. What more could you want?

#53 - Hunting For Witches (2007)
by Bloc Party

90s, optimistic as a teen,
Now it's terror, airplanes crash into towers...

#52 - Umbrella (2007)
by Rihanna ft. Jay-Z

When the sun shines, we'll shine together,
Told you I'll be here forever...

No offense to the Spears, but the best thing she's done is pass on 'Umbrella.' It was MUCH more suited to Rihanna.

#51 - Goodbye Mickie Finn (2006)
by Something With Numbers

As long as the clock keeps ticking you'll go,
Wherever the wind blows...
