Top 300 Songs of the 2000s, #230 - 221

Bring back crazy Britney!

The biggest hip-hop duo of the decade, an X-Factor winner, two of the most popular rock bands in music and 'crazy' Britney are all part of this entry in the countdown. Excited? You know you are...

#230 - All My Life (2002)
by Foo Fighters

All my life I've been searchin' for somethin'...

The Foo Fighters may have slipped a little, quality wise, with their last album... but a return to form looks like it could be in the cards for 2011. Don't bet against Dave Grohl.

#229 - Bleeding Love (2007)
by Leona Lewis

I don't care what they say, I'm in love with you...

'Bleeding Love' is pop ballad perfection. In fact, it's one of the last great pop ballads we've heard, hence it's monster success, charting at #1 in virtually every major territory. The song seems to have outlasted Lewis' success... what happened with that second album anyway?

#228 - Starlight (2006)
by Muse

Our hopes and expectations,
Black holes and revelations...

Hopefully Muse gets over the whole Twilight association and gets back to making awesome music. None of that 'Neutron Star Collision' anymore thanks.

#227 - Ain't No Rest For The Wicked (2009)
by Cage The Elephant

Oh no there ain't no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good...

#226 - Meddle (2008)
by Little Boots

She still remembers all the things you saw, Forever more,
She still remembers but won't tell...

I'd say 2011 would be prime time for Little Boots to release her sophomore album. Wouldn't you?

#225 - The Whole World (2001)
by OutKast

Yeah I'm afraid, like I'm scared as a dog,
But I've got a new song, and I won't y'all to sing along...

The first of what will be many OutKast appearances on this countdown.

#224 - Keep Breathing (2008)
by Ingrid Michaelson

I want to change the world, instead I sleep,
I want to believe in more than you and me...

#223 - Not Tonight (2002)
by Tegan and Sara

Everything in my body says not tonight,
Everything in my body says no...

#222 - Piece of Me (2007)
by Britney Spears

I'm Miss American Dream since I was 17,
Don't matter if I step on the scene, Or sneak away to the Philippines...

You've got to hand it to her (or, more accurately, her team), this was the perfect song for crazy Britney to come out with. Whoever wrote it deserves an award (and not the many MTV VMAs the song won... Video of the Year? Seriously?).

#221 - Lighthouse (2006)
by The Hush Sound

Take what you need while there's time,
The city will be earth in a short while...

If you're into end of the world songs you're going to LOVE this.

Stay tuned, we'll be back later tonight with another ten. That's right, today's one of those "lucky" days where you get two lots of 2000s goodness!

  1. Haha yeah, pre-crazy yet on the verge of crazinness Britney was the best. Look out for 'Toxic' later in the countdown!
