Top 300 Songs of the 2000s, #120 - 111

Britney's last stand... on this countdown.

This could be my favourite post of the entire countdown. Well, the songs aren't my favourite (clearly, or they'd be the top 10 no?), but the post get extra props for being the only one that features a song from every year in the decade. That's right, one song from the year 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Whatever, I think it's cool... here's the songs!

#120 - Hollaback Girl (2005)
by Gwen Stefani

So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack,
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out...

Brian Griffin - "I don't know what a Hollaback Girl is. All I know is that I want her dead." I can't say I feel as strongly as everyone's favourite talking dog, Brian.

#119 - Be Faithful (2000)
by Fatman Scoop and Crooklyn Clan

Engine, engine number nine,
On the New York transit line...

#118 - A&E (2008)
by Goldfrapp

And I was feeling lonely, feeling blue,
Feeling like I needed you...

#117 - Toxic (2004)
by Britney Spears

You're dangerous, I'm loving it...

Almost crazy Britney. She was my favourite. Disregard my previous comment where I said crazy Britney was my favourite. Sadly, this is the last we'll be seeing of Ms Spears for this countdown.

#116 - D.A.N.C.E (2007)
by Justice

Stick to the B.E.A.T,
Get ready to ignite...

Daft Punk for a new generation, Justice delivered one of the best albums of the decade in (Cross). They've kept it pretty quiet since their 2007 debut, perhaps a little too quiet. Maybe 2011 will see their grand return to the world stage.

#115 - The Blower's Daughter (2002)
by Damien Rice

And so it is, just like you said it would be...

#114 - When You Were Young (2006)
by The Killers

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus,
But he talks like a gentlemen...

The Killers. Their second album, Sam's Town, didn't deliver the sales figures of their debut, but that doesn't mean it was of a lesser quality. In fact, as a whole album it works much better than Hot Fuss. Disagree?

#113 - Daniel (2009)
by Bat For Lashes

I dream of home...

#112 - Ms Jackson (2001)
by OutKast

You could plan a pretty picnic,
But you can't predict the weather...

This one went out to all baby's mamas (mamas) and also went all the way to #1 pretty much everywhere.

#111 - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight (2003)
by The Postal Service

The district sleeps alone tonight,
After the bars turn out their lights...
