The Medicine Cabinet #10

Music Is My Medicine
by Nayt Housman

Music is my medicine. Is it yours? I ask the public six golden questions to find out if and how they use music to feed the soul.

I work with a lot of people so it’s inevitable a lot of them are going to become my patients in the future. I thought to myself, why not start now and get this ball rolling? So last week I did.

“DAVE! Be my Medicine Cabinet patient! It’s really fun, gently probing and you get a pretty picture out of it.”

Dave by Nayt Housman

Dave, 24, whose life passion is to become a sports trainer said; “Okay.”

Then Arnold said; “Hi this is Arnold, your instructor… dowwwwn, UP.”

Who flicks your switch and turns up the volume?

Dave: I’d probably say Flume, yeah Flume comes to mind.

PUSH, PUSH! Don’t drop the game! You can do it!

Why is he the pill that cures your ills?

Dave: I guess I feel like I connect with the music and I feel like it relaxes me every time I listen to it.

If you want to stay on top, you must remain relaxed.

What kind of high does it give you?

Dave: Makes me feel like I connect with the artist and I can move into a different state of mind.

When one is feeling sleepless, disconnect with your current state of reality.
Shift gears and FEEL the music, man. I mean FEEL it.

When do you find yourself craving musical relief?

Dave: I guess when I’m feeling emotionally unstable or really happy.

Where does music take you?

Dave: It takes me into a mental state where I’m not overly concerned about the world around me, I get to relax in my own head in my own time in my own place and it gives me peace.

Dude! Sweet! This hyperparadise is sweet dude!

How do you share your music love?

Dave: I share my love of music by supporting the artist live whenever I can and playing their music when I have friends around.

I made a mixtape. Party.

For me, Arnold says it's all about Flume. Up, down, up down. It’s like a little bit of everything all rolled into one.

“Man I’m pumped today...Flume.”

“Man I’m bummed today...Flume.”

Like the magic putty for every situation or the candy packed with every flavaaaaah under the sun.

I shall dub this 'Gobstopper Effect'. It’s like an upper and downer all rolled into one giant candy ball to stuff in your face, whatever the mood or occasion.

Doctor Nayt’s prescription today is more of a cure-all, a general tonic, the magic multivitamin, a salve that anoints wounds great and small. Guaranteed for nothing but sure to amaze. If you’re feeling off but can’t find the spanner in your gears, rub a bit of Flume in your ears. If the pain is still there and hasn’t quite gone, pop a little Flume on your tongue. If your fingers still tingle and your feet have gone numb, the only solution is Flume in YOUR BUM. Where ever you put it, it’s sure to surprise but NEVER, ever put Flume in your eyes.

*Warning! Flume is not guaranteed to cure any ailments and early safety tests indicate high likelihood of a condition known as ‘Booty Shaking’ may occur with both short and long term use.*
