Adele: Owning 2011 like no other... |
2011 is flying by and there's been so much insanely good music, it's about time we went into recap mode. At the end of June we'll be featuring a good old-fashioned mid-year report, but for now we're going to look at ten acts that have already made 2011 a year to remember. As always, there is a need to remind you that not everything is perfect... so we'll look at someone that needs to be removed from all records of this and every year. Ever.
The 10:
Lykke Li
Fleet Foxes
Clare Maguire
Architecture in Helsinki
Dr. Dre
Lady Gaga
Kimbra
Pnau
TV On The Radio
Seriously, this could have been the 100 and 1. We didn't even touch on Santigold, Fever Ray, Hunx and His Punx, The Good Natured, Stevie Nicks, Britney Spears, Foo Fighters, Austra, Oh Land, The Wombats, The Vaccines, The Kills, Zowie, Bon Iver, The Grates or... should I keep going? Maybe I'll stop. Yep, ok.
And 1:
Brian McFadden
You thought it was going to be Rebecca Black, didn't you? Well... you're wrong. And I love 'Friday.' There is indeed a song 'worse' that that wonderful anthem to everyone's favourite day of the week and that song is 'Just The Way You Are (Drunk at the Bar).' No, no... it's a love song for Delta Goodrem. Riiiight. Reasons why she dumped 'yo ass; #1. This song. That is all.
Stay tuned for more 2011 recap editions of '10 and 1' throughout June, as well as our mid-year report towards the end of the month!
