The Ting Tings will finally release their sophomore album at the end of the month (February 27) and I'm just a little bit excited. Their latest tracks have seen them explore a range of genres, from ska to pop, punk to dance and they're making it work. While debut We Started Nothing suffered slightly in an 'every song kinda sounds the same' sort of way, Sounds from Nowheresville could be one of the great party albums of the year. 'Soul Killing' is a fun jam, taking inspiration from reggae, ska and dancehall. Yeah, you wouldn't expect The Ting Tings to be dabbling around in genres like that, but they are... so deal with it... and enjoy!
