Total Eclipse of the Chart

What are the highest selling songs in the world right now? You want to know it and I'm about to tell you. Our latest feature here on It's My Kind of Scene is going to take a look at three major charts each week (USA, UK and Australia) and throw in one other country at random, just to mix things up a little. I'm all about mixing things up. We'll be looking at the top 10 in each market, as well as any notable debuts that have occurred within the top 50 that week. Illogical Analysis

*Australia hates homegrown music. Or is it just that there isn't any good Australian pop music at the moment? Even Norway had local duo Madcon in the top 10. Twice!

*Bruno Mars is on top of the world right now. More accurately, 'Just The Way You Are' is the biggest song in the world right now.

*America loves Glee. The show recently passed The Beatles to have the most songs chart in the top 100 in American history. But, uh, the UK loves the show too. So why does the UK have to wait until January to see the new season?

*Norway, the world cup ended months ago. Why is Shakira's theme song still in the top 5? That blip aside, Norway's music tastes are incredible. Marina & The Diamonds? Brandi Carlile? Norway's awesome.

*I'm not Usher's biggest fan, but he's managed to make quite the comeback. Even though it hasn't been the #1 smash like 'OMG' was, 'DJ Got Us Falling In Love' has been a chart success. Kudos.

*P!nk continues her domination of the Australian music charts with 'Raise Your Glass' debuting at #1. Looks like her Greatest Hits set will sell bucket loads. We'll have to wait-and-see how she goes in the other markets. 'Raise Your Glass' is sitting at #51 in the US.

*'Hands' debuting at #29 in the UK wouldn't be so bad if the Ting Ting's last lead single, 'That's Not My Name,' hadn't debuted at #1. Here's hoping 'Hands' get's some more attention and manages to crack the top 10.

*With Rihanna's music video to 'Only Girl (In The World)' now available, let's see if she'll crack the UK or move up in the US. The song's already gone to #1 in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, France and Germany. Combine that with the success of 'Love The Way You Lie' and it looks like Rihanna is back to her finest form again.

* That Madcon flash mob from EuroVision is pretty damn impressive. Aren't Europeans adorable?
