In what had been a headline grabbing festival/party in other states, the last of the Listen Out parties hit Brisbane last weekend in a surprisingly nice venue, right next to the Brisbane River at Southbank, which provided a beautiful city-scape view and a fabulous introduction to the obligatory summer festivals of 2013/14.

The headlines created in other states seemed to be absent from the QLD leg of Listen Out, which made for a festival of fun, sun, dancing and importantly artists playing entire sets, recognised by Azealia Banks toward the end of her set, saying; "Thank you Brisbane for being so polite". Yes, good work Brisbane.

Touch Sensitive was a piece of festival genius, the beats in the shade a perfect way to welcome dusk after a hot day, Aluna George were another highlight, providing one of the most bounce-able sets of the day, Duke Dumont was a DJ (here's where I point out that electronic music is made for dancing to, not necessarily watching), Azealia Banks proved that while she continues to create controversy the reason she gets away with it is that she's actually very, very good and Disclosure closed the day with an awesome set that had almost all the punters at one stage, dancing until the very end.

Check out our brand new and very first It's My Kind Of Scene gig gallery for bands, punters and click on each image to take you to lots of awesome!
