Song Review - Clams

Clams
by Pepa Knight

And this is why I love music so much...

It's weird, because I had a pretty bad day yesterday. Someone made me feel pretty insignificant in the most meaningless way, but that happens sometimes doesn't it? A comment from someone truly insignificant said in the wrong way, someone who clearly hasn't been taught the simple art of manners and bam...my world comes crashing down for a little while. I began to get over the insults of yesterday with the company of some incredibly good friends...

...and then this....

...the super happy vocals reminding me of some of the best gigs I've ever been to, the quick beats making me feel like a sunny day in a fairground, on a pier, by the beach and then the big sounds of percussion and sitar and all those voices take me to places I've never been, countries I've never seen and people I've never met, but I know I will one day. And if I don't then it was never meant to be anyway.

Pepa Knight is the one responsible for my change of mood, he of Jinja Safari fame and while his previous solo release 'Rahh!' was just as much delightful mood altering happiness, 'Clams' continues the theme of Indian inspired vibes and sounds and takes it another step further, even more joyous than his first release was. It's also made itself into a special little place in my life for now, because it is the song responsible for putting a smile back on my face after a day I'd rather forget, and dear readers...

...and that is why I love music so much.

Jo Michelmore gives 'Clams' four Gotye heads out of five...
